She sat on the edge of the hatch on the foredeck
Slightly invisible to crowds on the ship
She held her guitar firmly on her lap
The only companion she brought on the trip

She couldn’t help wonder what stood before her
She questioned decisions, she questioned her heart
Then the stranger approached and helped her with her luggage
She saw him and thought, “till death do us part”
